SC Victoria University Reduce Villa Title Hopes

Sc Villa title hopes were shrunk following a one all draw with SC Victoria University at the Nakivubo stadium on Friday.

Before the tie, the 16 time record champions had registered four massive straight wins against Simba FC, Entebbe, Soana and Lweza.

With the first half yielding nothing on both sides, visitors Victoria University took the lead from a would be goal of the season after Daniel Nsubuga fired in a looping ball past SC Villa goalkeeper Nicholas Ssebwato who was far from his line in the 77 minute.

With only two minutes left, experienced Hakim Magumba who had replaced Agustin Nsumba exposed the difference by dribbling his way past Victoria’s defence before laying a classy pass to Victor Emanayo who made it 1-1.

Vipers on the other hand are the happiest from the Nakivubo match result and had registered a 1-0 win against Express FC.

The result therefore piles misery to coach Ibrahim Kirya’s hopes to enter into the club’s archives for ending the 11 year trophy-less spell at Villa Park.

SC Villa will now seek a win from Kiira Young on Tuesday to go back on top and wait to face Vipers at Nakivubo stadium.

Elsewhere, KCC managed to beat URA with a 1-0 at Phillip Omondi stadium while Police FC at Kavumba recreation grounds thrashed eastern side BUL FC 3-0 to go sixth at the table with 40 points.

At Nambole stadium, Lweza FC in their campaign to survive relegation huddle were a 1-0 away winners against Kiira Young, Simba SC registered a 2-0 victory away to Bright Stars with Sadolin FC confirming Entebbe FC relegation ticket after winning with a goal to nil.
