Junior Yunus SantamuYouthful striker Junior Yunus Sentamu has returned to Uganda without concluding a deal with AmaZulu.

Haruna Kyobe, the SC Vipers secretary, confirmed to sources  on Wednesday that Sentamu returned to Uganda over the weekend and will be involved in the club’s league game on Friday.

“Yes he had good trials with AmaZulu and a deal will wait till the next transfer window around June. For now the player will be part of our playing squad for the second round of the league and the Uganda Cup knockout competition,” added the official.

The 19-year-old striker caught the attention of various clubs across the Absa Premiership following his impressive displays with the Cranes in the CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) last month.

Sentamu, who was making a debut for the Cranes, scored all three goals for the team as they failed to go past the group stage. Coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s team beat Burkina Faso 2-1 and drew 0-0 with Zimbabwe before falling 3-1 to Morocco.

Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates had been linked to Sentamu’s services over the course of the January transfer window before Craig Rosslee’s AmaZulu side finally asked the player to travel Durban for trials.
