The 2019 Netball World Cup will be the 15th staging of the premier competition in international netball, contested every four years. The tournament will be held from 12–21 July 2019 at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, England. Notably, Uganda will be among the 16 countries to vie for bragging rights in the showpiece tournament.
The She Cranes are expected to depart for Liverpool on 5th July. For now, though, 11 of the 12 players that will be used at the global event are being put through their paces at the ultra-modern Allen VR Stanley Pavilion indoor facility in Nakirebe, Mpigi district.
The She cranes qualified for 2019 Netball world cup when they beat Zambia 64-52 at the International Youth Olympic Center in Lusaka to book the third African slot. For that reason, Uganda joined South Africa who is the top-ranked nation in Africa and Malawi (second best) in the World Cup.
On the other hand, Uganda Golf club is looking forward to hosting the fourth edition of the Victoria Cup golf event. The fourth edition of the Victoria Cup is upon us, which uses a Ryder Cup format, to pit Uganda against close-door neighbors Kenya, is slated to run from 4th to 6th July at Uganda Golf Club.
Kenya has bossed the golfing event, winning all three previous editions. Uganda, though, is confident that it will turn the tables on its old rival.
