SHOCKING! 12-year-old Boy Convicted For Defiling 6-Months Old Baby

By Stuart Yiga
The High court in Kampala on Wednesday convicted a 12-year-old boy for defiling a 6 months old baby.
The accused was a primary six pupil who pleaded guilty to having sexually abused a neighbors 6 months old daughter on 3rd/June 2014.
However Justice Joseph Murangira sent him back to the Naguru remand home until 27th of this month when he will receive sentence.
He is part of a group of juvenile capital offenders appearing before Justice Murangira in a plea bargain criminal session, where they admit to their actions in exchange for lesser punishments.
Other juveniles are facing charges of murder and aggravated robbery.
The boy admitted having abused the baby on the fateful day, as he went to the victim’s house to borrow a saucepan and found the baby alone.
The victim’s elder sister who later came in and saw the baby bleeding from her private parts reported the case to Kitezi police post, which investigated the matter and arrested the 12year old boy who also confessed to the crime.
Meanwhile, 151 former employees of the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) have gone to the High court in Kampala, seeking permission to sue their ex-employer for unlawful dismissal.
These led by Leendon Dennis Kiyimba; a former supply officer with UNRA want court orders compelling UNRA to compensate them with over 13 billion shillings as damages and terminal benefits for illegal retrenchment.
Kiyimba and his colleagues accuse UNRA of denying them a hearing before terminating their running contracts in December last year, shortly after the appointment of Allen Kagina as the new executive Director.
The aggrieved former employees also include; directors, engineers and drivers among others.
They claim that after the omnibus restructuring, they cannot find employment anywhere as they are perceived by the public to thieves and fraudsters, even though none of them has been prosecuted by UNRA.
It’s upon this background that these through their lawyers of Bakiza and company advocates, want court to allow them take on UNRA for non-payment of their salary arrears and any other retrenchment benefits for their contracts running up to November 2017.
The Deputy registrar Alex Ajiji heard the application of 6 of their representatives and will deliver a ruling on 26th next week on whether to permit them file a suit against UNRA.
