After a series of police investigations into the sudden death of Kampala International University student Irene Kyakunda, details continue to emerge.
Police findings show that Kyakunda took a morning after pill in October that didn’t work effectively.
Five weeks later, she realized she was pregnant and opted for a surgical abortion that culminated into the end of her life on earth.
According to the police, Kyakunda first visited a clinic in Namuwongo that is owned by a one Joseph Wabwire but they couldn’t handle the abortion, prompting the nurse to refer her to a colleague at Global Medical Clinic in Natete.
The Police chief Kale Kayihura revealed that “It is at the colleague’s place that the police identified as Julius Ndiwajuni where she Kyakunda died.”
“After realizing that Kyakunda had died, the draftspersons carried her body and dumped it in Nsangi as disguise,” Kayihura added.
Kyakunda was buried on Thursday December 4, in Kiruhura district.
The deceased’s brother, Caleb Bangulya said the family was taking legal action against the suspects.
