Sudanese Businessman Commits Suicide In Jinja

A businessman of Sudanese origin has committed suicide in Jinja district.

Isaac Bismola’s body was found dangling from the roof of one of the bedrooms in his house located along Wanyama Road in Wanyama village Bugembe town council.

It is not clear why Bismola decided to take his life. Some of his relatives link the suicide to the ongoing troubles about their family at home while others believe it is a result of misunderstandings with his wife.

Moses Kudaaga, the Wanyama village Chairperson, says information obtained shows that before committing suicide Bismola  went to Wanyama trading centre to have a drink. When he returned, Bismola reportedly asked one of his children to go and buy maize flour for lunch. But on her return from the market, she found the deceased’s body hanging in one of the bedrooms in their main house.

Patrick Niwagaba, the Officer in Charge of Bugembe Police Post, says Bismola had repeatedly threatened to commit suicide after wrangles with family members heightened. Niwagaba has described the incident as unfortunate saying they have launched investigations to establish the motive of the suicide.

The body of the deceased has been taken to Jinja regional referral hospital for post mortem. He is survived by a wife and four children who reside in Bugembe town council.

On October 2, 2013 a man in his mid-30s was found dead inside his house in Katende west village in Bugembe town council.
