The Saints vs JMC FC, Venue: Namboole, KICKOFF: 4pm
The challenge is known, the task is clear. The Saints play Jinja Municipal Council (JMC FC) at Namboole for a place in the top League in the land the Azam Uganda Premier League.
The two teams meet for the second time, with the reverse fixture ending 2-1 in favor of The Saints last November at Kakindu stadium. JMC come into this game as favorites with the hosts as underdogs. This is so because of the single point that puts JMC above The Saints on the log.
The Saints are in good spirits after thumping Namasagali 6-1 at the same venue last week and will also be keen on completing a double against the Jinja side and go top on the Rwenzori group of the FUFA Big League.
The Saints have had a mixed second round of the league where they have lost two games to Ndejje and Soroti Garage plus a draw against CRO FC in Mbale. JMC are yet to taste league defeat this year but the Saints believe they are the team to do it.
The Saints has prepared well in the past week and every player is ready for the challenge at 4:00PM.
“The better teams are facing off and our aim here is to qualify for the Uganda Premier League next season, its as simple as that, we believe we are capable of doing it and we shall be going out to do just that, ” Mark Twinamatsiko vowed.
JMC has spent five years in the FUFA Big League managing the play off slots only twice. They have never qualified to the top flight while this is The Saints’ second season in the same competition.
