Despite the early drizzles, Thousands of children have graced the fourth edition of the StarTimes Kids Run which took place early today morning (the 16th of December 2018) at the Uganda.
The race which included 1.5 km for age between 3-8 years and 3km for ages 9-14 were high competitive.
The children were flagged from at 6:30 am with the race of 1.5 Km going setting off from Uganda museum throughTuffnell drive, Mwawnda road, kira rd and back to the venue whereas the 3km race started from Uganda museum through,Tuffnel drive to Kira rd police traffic lights and back to the starting point.
This run saw total of 6 girls and 6 boys won medals win silver and gold medal for those categories while over 20 children won other goodies like gift hampers , TV and decoder from StarTimes.
Speaking that the even, the StarTimes CEO, Andy wang noted that the annual kids run is intended to groom future runners for the country but also keep the young generation fit.
He also added that because the run is aimed at donating water to the schools in West Nile, this is one way of empowering children to have a charitable and giving heart as they grow up.
Winners of each race walked away with a 24 inch LED TV.
Every participating kid paid 20,000ugx. Proceeds from the kids race will be used to provide safe water to other kids in less privileged communities in Arua that will be delivered in January next year, the organisers revealed.
Besides the races, kids were entertained to music, ice cream, bouncing castles, games among others.
