Two Dead, Three Severely Injured in Mbarara Gas Explosion

Mbarara| RedPepper Digital – Two People have been confirmed dead in a gas blast in Kisenyi Cell, Kakoba, Mbarara city south in a metal scrap Workshop.

The deceased have been identified by police as one Hussein and Baker but press time police were yet to confirm the places of residence for the deceased.

According to Rwizi Regional police spokesperson. ASP Samson Kasasira told the press that they received information today at around 12:00 in the afternoon that there was a blast in one of the metal Workshops in Kisenyi Cell.

He says police swang into action and found out that two people were hit dead by a gas cylinder when they were trying to cut to remove scrap wreckages.

Kasasira says that in the process three other people sustained serious injuries they including a one Emmanuel, Kamusiime Gershom and Tumwebaze John the owner of the metal Workshop and they were rushed to Mbarara regional referral hospital for medical attention.

He, however, called for calmness in the public and dismissed rumours that had started making rounds on social media that it was a bomb blasts.

Kasasira further argued the community to report any suspected sorts of situation to police.
