Uganda Bureau of Statistics-UBOS has set November 18th 2014 as the date for releasing the provisional national Population and housing Census results.
In August this year, Uganda Bureau of Statistics embarked on the national Population and housing Census.
Currently, UBOS is undertaking a countrywide post enumeration survey in selected districts such as Abim, Agago Gulu, Kitgum, Lamwo, Pader and Alebtong to detect errors which could have been caused by enumerators during the exercise.
The survey started on Monday October 27th, 2014 and will run until November 5th. Up to 800 enumerators are conducting the exercise.
Joshua Mubulire, UBOS public relations officer says the exercise is to evaluate the magnitude of content and coverage errors among others. Mubulire says if the margin of error is found to be more than 10 then a fresh census is organized in that specific area.
In Lira district Awielem B, Ayee-gero, Okec-oyere, Itek, Ongica B, Tekulu, Ogengo, Kichope, Awirilao, and Abalalai have been selected for the survey. The final results are expected in December 2015.
