Uganda is strong, it can host big people like Pope—M7

President Museveni has said that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) has strengthened Uganda security wise enabling the nation to host world figures like the Pope.

The incumbent president who is also the NRM party flag bearer while rallying people of Kumi to vote him for a fifth term in office said the previous governments failed because they did not understand the idea of unity.

“Uganda is now strong, security wise, that’s why we can now host big guests like the Pope,” he said, adding; “The previous governments collapsed because they did not understand the idea of unity. NRM treats Ugandans as one.”

On women, Museveni said their rights should be protected and promoted because they are the foundation of a family.

“If you don’t know it, a woman is the center of family, because she is a daughter, wife, sister. Don’t deny her rights. I was in the bush for 14yrs and who was taking care of the family? It is a woman. They should be given equal rights,” he said.

He concluded by asking Teso to vote for National Resistance Movement and “your old man with a hat. Empower NRM to support you better.”
