Uganda She Cranes have made it to their second Word Cup after beating Swaziland 58-38 to extend their unbeaten leadership and guarantee qualification to the World Championship in Australia from 7th-16 August  next year.

The team traveled with bare facilitation after securing air tickets from members of Parliament.

The She Cranes raised their stakes gunning for a place on the world stage after overcoming hosts Botswana 47-32 in a brisk encounter in the on-going Africa championship in Gabarone on Wednesday.

Shooter Peace Proscovia led the Ugandan charge together with Hadijah Nakabuye, Susan Tino, Halima Nakachwa and Flavia Nalule.Uganda launched their bid with a 53-40 victory over Zambia on Monday before edging out Zimbabwe on Tuesday.

Their game against Namibia on Friday will be a formality game with the Ugandan national side that who won the Six Nations Cup, now out of reach.

The top two teams in Gabarone will join South Africa and Malawi in the World Championship in Sydney.

Powerhouse South Africa and Namibia qualified directly. Uganda was the first African country to participate in the Netball World Cup also known as the World Netball Championship in Trinidad & Tobago in 1979.

The Southern Caribbean country hosted the fifth edition of the event and Uganda was one of the 19 countries that participated.

In the end, the trio of Australia, New Zealand and Trinidad and Tobago shared the title.
