UNRA Grilled Over Failure To Recruit Senior Managers
By Serestino Tusingwire
Legislators on the committee of statutory authorities and state enterprises have questioned the current and former managers of the Uganda National Roads Authority on why the senior positions have not been filled for over three years.
The committee which was considering the queries in the Auditor General’s report also questioned the officials led by UNRA Executive Director Allen Kagina on why a number of ferries are not insured, thereby endangering the lives of travelers
UNRA seems to be in one of the its difficult days after over 150 of its former employees petitioned High court seeking Shs13bn in damages for being unfairly dismissed.
More still, the Inspector General of Government has launched investigations into alleged corruption in the recent recruitment of its staff.
