URA Downs Villa in Four-goal Thriller

Talismanic utility midfielder Ali Feni netted a brace, Yusuf Juuko conceded an own goal before Augustine Nsumba as Paul Nkata’s URA FC ran rout of SC Villa 4-0 at Nakivubo Stadium on Tuesday in their FUFA Super League tie.

Ali Feni (R) was on-form again as URA demolished SC Villa at Nakivubo on Tuesday.

The tax collectors maintained their unbeaten run with no goals conceded to go top to with 10 points from four games played.

SC Victoria University also made sure they bagged maximum points against Vipers FC and moved to second position. The University side beat Vipers 3-1 in a match played at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

Alex Isabirye made a couple of changes to the side that drew last week to Entebbe. Isaac Muleme returned at left back while Muwadda Mawejje came in for the injured Jackson Kibirige. Dan Nsubuga was drafted as the lead striker and Noah Semakula made his first league start.

Striker Simon Okwi proved to SC Victoria’s technical bench that his recruitment from KCCA FC during the transfer period was a good move when he scored the first goal in the 16th minute. The hardworking striker unleashed a hard shot past Vipers’ goalkeeper Hamza Muwonge.

Muwadda Mawejje added two goals for SC Victoria in the second half, while Ismail Kazibwe picked up a consolation goal for Vipers FC in the 89th minute.

“I am happy that the goals are starting to come and this is the second game we are scoring three goals,” said SC Victoria coach Alex Isabirye after the game.

In the other games played, Andrew Basoma’s lone goal was enough to win it for Police FC against Bidco FC. CRO FC also moved from bottom of the log with a hard fought 3-2 victory over Entebbe FC.
