Otto says because of Muntu’s weak leadership style, he has failed to deliver positive results for FDC and the opposition.

Otto made the remarks on Monday at parliament. Otto, returning from an upcountry tour, said his travels had shown him that the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) is poised to win in the 2016 General Elections.

Otto said Muntu’s leadership had failed to galvanise critical mass support for the FDC party to triumph in the 2016 elections.

He said Muntu and most opposition leaders do not seem to have a coherent plan on how to cause regime change in Uganda.

He said it is about time Col Kizza Besigye came back to the political scene to give President Museveni some competition and curtail his dominance of the political scene.  Otto said that with Besigye off thepolitical scene, it was possible for Museveni to receive 90% of the vote.

Otto said that Besigye already enjoyed a strong base of support which would rally to vote if he is on the scene.

Otto said that if Besigye backs another opposition leader, that leader will have a chance against President Museveni.  Otto did not spare the Opposition leader in parliament Wafula Oguttu.

He said Oguttu’s leadership style, like Muntu, hadfailed to inspire their followers.

But Bugweri MP Abdu Katuntu disagreed with Otto. Katuntu argued that just because Muntu has a low key leadership style does not mean he has failed to achieve anything.

Katuntu further argued that most dictators do not fall because of the strength of the opposition but due to their own mistakes.  He hinted at corruption as NRM’s fatal weakness.
