Missing Kabale businesswoman decomposing body found in her room

The body of a 30 years old businesswoman in Kabale town was on Tuesday afternoon found decomposing in her rented room in Kabale town after   missing for over one week.

Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional Police spokesman has confirmed the incident ad identifies her as Grace Ahimbisibwe a resident of Central East cell, central Division, Kabale municipality in Kabale district.

Maate says that  the  Fred Kadugara a business man on Tuesday at round 5pm  went to Kabale police station and reported a case of disappearance of one Ahimbisibwe  who has been operating a bar next to his motor spare shop, Its alleged that Ahimbisibwe  was last seen on January 20th 2024 at her bar it was  the  that a  case file of disappearance was registered vide Kabale SD  ref:35/30/01/2024.

He says that after getting the information police after knowing that she was residing  at Agaba Motel building in room 40 in Kabale municipality  police detectives from homicide desk led by D/AIP Derrick  Mugabe  the regional soco and District soco Dcpl mubangizi .

Maate says that  At room 40 in the same building the officers were welcomed by bad smell that was coming from room and the door was locked  intact The police had to break the door and found the keys inside the door lock and the body hanging, piece of cloth in her neck When her room was searched, her documents shown that she is called Ahimbisibwe Grace The body was decomposing Scene of crime was documented and photographs take The body was then removed from the crime scene and taken to Kabale regional referral mortuary pending postmortem.

Maate says that  Inquiries still on going.
