KCCA Set to Launch Online Radio Station to Speak Directly to K’la

CITY-HALL

Kampala residents should get ready to tune in to their own city radio station after Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) kicked off plans to launch an official broadcaster.

The radio will be exclusively online, according to sources.

KCCA has since picked veteran media consultant Dr. Joel Isabirye to lead the establishment and operationalization of the online radio station after he emerged as the best-evaluated bidder from nine firms that competed for the lucrative project.

Once operational, KCCA online Radio is expected to become the city’s dedicated information hub, keeping Kampala residents informed about everything happening at City Hall.

Currently, KCCA relies on private radio stations, television, newspapers and digital platforms to communicate with the public. The new station is expected to give the Authority a direct line to city dwellers, ensuring faster and more consistent communication.

The move comes as KCCA rolls out major infrastructure upgrades, road construction, drainage improvements, sanitation campaigns and urban planning initiatives across the capital.
