Coach Bobby Denies Kenya Job Links

Uganda Cranes head coach Booby Williamson has denied ever speaking with the Kenya FA over taking charge of the national team, Harambee Stars.

The Scottish tactician who has guided Uganda to three trophies of the regional Cecafa Tusker Senior Challenge Cup told Uganda Radio Network this evening that he has never spoken to the Kenyans.

There have been reports in Kenya that Bobby together with the Rwanda coach Milutin Sredejovic and Algeria’s Adel Amrouche had expressed interest in the vacant job.

Bobby Williamson has been in-charge of Uganda for the last four years.

The Harambee Stars coaching job has been vacant since the controversial exit of Frenchman Henri Michel late last year after he was in-charge for less than five months.

FUFA was also quick to issue a release today stating the coach has a running contract and has not been in contact with Kenya.

FUFA spokesman Rogers Mulindwa said that the federation was not aware of any such moves Mulindwa emphasised that there are however, clear procedures within the FIFA statutes, known to both Uganda and Kenya in case a federation employee of this nature wishes to shift places.

While Uganda is preparing to face Liberia in the 2014 World Cup qualifier next month, the Harambee Stars are also getting in shape ahead of their away game against newly crowned African Champions Nigeria in the same qualifier.
