Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club ( KCCA FC) on Tuesday announced that they have parted ways with their Portuguese Head Coach Sergio Traguil.

Traguil’s departure has been anticipated after he struggled to get results for the Lugogo based outfit. The club lost four league games in a row under his stewardship and his departure is no surprise to many.

Traguil’s fate was sealed on Friday last week after his side lost 3-1 to new league entrants Kitara FC. Kabon Living, Paul Mucureezi, and Denis Omedi scored the hosts’ goals while Brazilian Joao Gabriel’s first league strike, also KCCA’s only third of the season, could only count as a consolation.

After the loss to Kitara, KCCA FC board met with the club patron Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago the next day and it was at in meeting that Traguil’s fate was sealed. The club had earlier on lost to BUL (0-1), Express (0-1) and Maroons (2-1).

The club claims that Traguil has a family issue that’s why he departed but the firing of assistant coach Luis Guerreiro alongside the tactician implies that the head coach was fired because of poor performance.

Going forward, the club has appointed Jackson Magera as the interim coach for the Kasasiro Boys. He has been first team coach at the club having returned to the side at the beginning of the season.
