Top Opposition leader Raila Odinga has rejected the presidential election results and promises to mount a legal challenge. He claims was rigged.
Odinga, while addressing the nation a few hours back, he says “without reservation i reject the election results announced August 15 as Kenya’s electoral body proclaimed William Ruto as president elect.”
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chief Wafula Chebukati proclaimed that Ruto won with 50.49 per cent of the vote against veteran politician Odinga’s 48.5 per cent .
“What we saw yesterday was a travesty and a blatant disregard of the constitution of Kenya by Mr Chebukati,” Raila told a press conference at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi on Tuesday.
