Slain city tycoon buried as row erupts between families

Redpepper Online has learnt that slain businessman Henry Katanga was buried yesterday, Monday, November 6, 2023, in Orwera Kikatsi, Kiruhura District despite a court order that had been issued to stop the activity.
Following Katanga’s death last week, his mother, Milielly Kyabuhooro Katanga, rushed to the Family Division of Kampala, where she obtained an interim order stopping the slain businessman’s wife, Molly Katanga, and her family from burying him in Kiruhura District. Henry Katanga’s mother wanted her deceased son to be buried at his ancestral home in Kariro Rubindi, Kashari, Mbarara District.
Molly Katanga’s family, however, went ahead and buried the deceased in Kiruhura district, something that sparked anger among members of the slain businessman’s family and friends.

One of Henry Katanga’s close associates this website talked to furiously called out the Molly Katanga’s family for entrenching criminality because of personal gain (greed, impunity, and ignorance).
“It is disheartening to witness the entrenchment of criminality due to greed, impunity, and ignorance,” he said, adding that “the situation even becomes more tragic when we see the disrespectful treatment of the deceased and the denial of rights of mourning and burial to the grieving mother, siblings, nephews, and nieces. Such injustices perpetuate a cycle of pain and suffering.”
Another friend noted, “The murder of Henry Katanga is an eye-opener for all of us. It is essential for society to strive towards justice and fairness for all, ensuring the criminals face the consequences of their actions and that victims receive empathy and support.”
The slain businessman Henry Katanga, 61, was found dead in his matrimonial home in Mbuya, a Kampala suburb. It is alleged that the deceased had a disagreement with his wife and was, as a result, shot in the head by her.
The wife of the deceased, who is a key suspect in the murder, is said to be unconscious and also in the hospital.
