Inzuyamasaba to receive over sh300m from Bugisu local governments

Bugisu sub-region whose districts Mbale city ,Bududa ,Manafa , Namisindwa, Bulambuli , Sironko and Mbale District local government including their constituent sub counties and municipal councils have pledged to support the Inzuyamasaba financially.

The contribution will be about sh300mn annually as a honorarium which will enable it manage its cultural programs.

The Inzuyamasaba is a creation of local governments.

The present municipal statutes require that all districts and sub-counties should endorse any claimant to cultural leadership and in the formative days of the establishment of the institution in 2010 this requirement was critical which all sub-counties and local governments complied with.

While representing the Umki of Inzuyamasaba recently during the Mbale district budget conference, the spokesperson Inzuyamasaba. Steven Masiga requested the district leadership to fulfill their pledge of funding the cultural institution. He also applauded the district leadership for allocating extra space in the form of accommodation and office space to the cultural leadership.

The Inzuyamasaba as an institution of culture which unites all Bamasaaba was created around 2010 with the sole purpose of enhancing unity and execution of cultural related tasks.

Over the years the institution has had three successive leadership beginning with Umki His Royal Highness Wilson wamimbi 2010 up to 2015, and His Royal Highness Sir Bob Mushikor 2015 up to 2020 and His Royal highness Jude Mike Mudoma from 2023 up to 2028.

All district leaders have agreed to mobilise their citizens for this cause.

According to Masiga, the revenue expected from these local governments will help the cultural institution to meet a number of commitments to the inhabitants of Masaabaland ranging from provisions of bursaries to bright children, family planning PDM tips, Imbalu ceremonies and general development agendas.DEAR READER, DO YOU HAVE A HOT STORY?
