BUSIA CHILD MURDER! Suspect on Run Threatens Parents of 3-Year-Old Girl After Ransom Killing
The parents of a three year old girl who was murdered over ransom in Busia district are living in fear following phone call threats by one of the suspects.
The juvenile, Evelyn Nabwire, was reportedly kidnapped on 24th September by her cousin Edrine Bwire, when she had gone to play in his home during the evening. Police are currently holding one suspect identified as Muhwana Lawrence while the prime suspect, Edrine Bwire is still at large.
David Ouma, the father to the deceased said Tuesday during the burial of his daughter in Bubolwa village that ever since the suspect killed his child, has continued calling him threatening to harm him too for violating the rules they had earlier set of not reporting the matter to police.
According to Ouma, the suspect made him toil from Thursday last week and now the act has left them in tears. He appealed to the government to help him and his family be safe from the reported threats.
Richard Wabwire Ngolobe, the Bubolwa village L.C.1 chairperson said that he was shocked to get information that a child was kidnapped and murdered. He condemned the act of involving innocent children in dubious family conflicts.
He confirmed registering the report of phone call threats from the suspect on the run.
Syliver Wanyama Mangeni, the Babolwa Clan chairperson opined that the suspect one Edrine Bwire has had such a mentality and his forty days are over. They want the law to deal with him because he ignored them as family leaders and opted to commit a crime of murder.
Grace Nyangoma, the Busia district police commander- said that they have managed to arrest one suspect and are hunting for the key suspect using all means.
She urged residents to help them by reporting in case they come across the suspect on the run.
Busia district chairman John Charles Namayindi, asked residents to be vigilant and take watch over their children.
