Police Issues Fresh Terror Alert

The Uganda Police have issued a terror alert saying it has information of a planned terror attack on a shopping centre, Nakumatt/Garden City in Kampala this weekend.

In a statement issued Friday evening and signed by the IGP, the the police have requested members of the public to exercise vigilance, especially in public places such as places of entertainment/worship and public events.
The IGP has also advised Events organizers to work with police to ensure maximum security.

PRESS RELEASE -TERROR ALERT
We have received information of planned terror attack (suicide bombing) on Nakumatt/Garden City this weekend. As Police with its sister security agencies verify the information, we request members of the public to exercise vigilance, especially in public places such as places of entertainment/worship and public events. Events managers must work with Police to ensure total security at these venues.
However, there should be no panic or fear.
You should go about your business but exercise vigilance in ways, we always advise you.
