The FUFA Big League (Uganda’s second tier to the Uganda Premier League (UPL) is slated to start Tuesday 2nd October 2014 with eight games on card according to Ali Mwebe, FUFA’s head of Competitions Directorate.
The fixtures for the first round have been already finalized and action will start on Thursday, 2nd October.
The top team per group (Rwenzori and Elgon) qualifies automatically for next season’s top flight league – Uganda Premier League.
The second and third rated teams per group are engaged in a play off to vie for the third slot.
Three teams will be demoted at the end of the 2014/15 regular season of the FUFA Big league to the respective regional leagues.xciti
