While addressing journalists at the party headquarters yesterday, Kakande condemned the manner in which the NRM Poor Youth were handled by security operatives.

Kakande said that today is NRM and tomorrow it might be DP, FDC or UPC.

“Museveni is sending out a signal that it is a crime to oppose him,” roared Kakande.

Kakande further noted that it is also a crime to disagree with President Museveni.

He also noted that it is degrading to use force on people fighting for their rights and it raises injustice.

“It is everyone’s right to demonstrate. If people can demonstrate outside White House, why not the American embassy in Uganda?” wondered Kakande

“We condemn as Democratic party the continued abuse of human rights by Museveni’s security agencies,” warned Kakande.
