WHERE CAN WE GET JUSTICE? Family of Businessman Who Disowned Traditional Worship and Converted to Christianity on the Run; Three More Family Members Killed

John Bosco Barongo who is latest family member to be killed
On April 26th, 2011, Justine Abwooli Tibahwa, who happens to be the widow of the late Joshua Tibagwa, was found dead. Justine Abwooli was also murdered like her late husband, and her body, which was discovered dumped in a swamp, had multiple wounds, indicating that she was stabbed and died due to the injuries she sustained.
Justine’s death happened on the day she was going to attend her husband’s burial, who had also been murdered in cold blood. According to one of the sons, who did not want to disclose his name, it is very clear that the same people who murdered their father over religious matters are the ones who have murdered their mother as well, claiming they are trying to get rid of the family that brought them curses when they denounced the gods and converted to Christianity.
The deceased’s son, only identified by one name, “Gerald,” went to Wandegeya Police in Kampala and reported the matter to the police authorities.
Days after the death of Justine Abwooli Tibahwa murder, a joint security operation was conducted and two prime suspects were arrested. The two who were arrested include Solomon Tibagwa and Adias Mugisa, who happen to be brothers of the deceased Joshua Tibagwa. Local area police confirmed the arrest of these two prime suspects.
On 28th January 2012, John Bosco Barongo, another family member, was also murdered in cold blood. John Bosco was killed on his way back home from his workplace. He was working as a cashier at Kinyara Sugar Works.
Surprisingly, the killers did not take any of his belongings, which indicated that they had come just for his life. Up to now, police have not apprehended any suspects in connection to John Bosco’s death.
In a nasty turn of events, the key suspects in regard to the murder of Justine Abwooli Tibahwa were later released from police cells without any clear reason, and these suspects never even appeared before courts of law.
Several members of this family have tried all possible ways to look for justice, but they have never gotten justice.
It is now a total of three (3) family members who have been murdered in the same manner, but the family is still crying and begging to get justice.
According to a reliable source close to the family, some of the family members have now fled to countries such as South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America, among others, due to fear of being murdered, since the authorities failed to apprehend and charge the suspects.
It is not the first time that such scenarios are happening in Uganda. Many families have lost their beloved ones in cases like this, but police and investigation departments have never provided reports for such deaths.
