DPP Chibita On The Spot For ‘Frustrating’ Forgery Case Against MP
Uganda’s Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has been acussed of frustrating the trial against a lawmaker.
Baker Byayi, a resident of Lwengo District who dragged Lwengo Woman MP Cissy Namujju to court for forgery, claims DPP, Mike Chibita is frustrating the case.
Namujju is on trial for forgery of academic qualifications and uttering false documents. It’s alleged that Namujju used forged academic documents to be nominated as a candidate for the Lwengo Woman MP seat, which she eventually won.
She has since been thrown out of parliament for lack of relevant academic qualifications but appealed against the High Court ruling.
