Ancient Catholic prophecies by a revered Irish bishop end with the chilling prediction that the next Pope to be selected by the College of Cardinals to fill Benedict XVI’s place will be the last Pope.
St. Malachy, an Archbishop of Armagh who died in 1148, left behind a list of 112 Popes that has amazed some with its remarkable accuracy.
Malachy used a short phrase in Latin to describe each Pope, beginning with Celestine II and “From a castle on the Tiber.” That Pope’s birth name was Guido di Castello.
More recently, he described Pope John Paul I with the phrase: “From the midst of the moon.” His reign, which began in 1978, began with the moon half full and lasted only one month — or one moon.
He was followed by Pope John Paul II by the Latin expression “Laboris Solis” — or translated “From the labor of the sun” — an expression meaning a solar eclipse.
As it turned out, John Paul II was the only known pope to be born on the day of a solar eclipse — and he was buried on the day of a solar eclipse.
A near total eclipse was seen across Europe on May 18, 1920, the day he was born in Poland. And on April 8, 2005, the day of the Pope’s funeral, a partial solar eclipse blotted out most of the sun and darkened a wide area of the world, from the South Pacific to the Western Hemisphere.
For the next Pope, Benedict XVI, St. Malachy wrote: “Glory of the olive.” Before the Pope was selected, some suggested a Benedictine would be elected because the order is sometimes referred to as the Olivetans, whose name ultimately derives from the Mount of Olives in the New Testament.
A Benedictine was not selected. However, upon his election as pontiff, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger chose the name Benedict after St. Benedict of Nursia, founder of the Benedictine Order.
St. Malachy described only one more Pope after Benedict, “Petrus Romanus” or “Peter the Roman.”
The Irish prophet wrote: “In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will reign Peter the Roman, who will feed his flock amid many tribulations; after which the seven-hilled city (Rome) will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people.”
Some believe the prophecy could foretell the destruction of the Church, or the world, and play into Christian prophecy as revealed in the book of Revelation which suggests a final battle between good and evil
St. Malachy’s prophecies were first published in 1595 by a Benedictine historian.
According to a traditional account, Malachy was summoned to Rome by Pope Innocent II in 1139, and while there he purportedly experienced a vision of future Popes. He recorded the vision in his cryptic phrases and this manuscript was left in an archive and forgotten until its rediscovery in 1590.

This is a misleading headline . The “prophecy” is about the end of the World , and not about the last Pope , isn`t it ?
I think people have alot of prophesies you can imagine such Wolokoso. The catholic church was founded by Jesus who left Peter as a Pope and since then Popes have been there why should some one just imigine.

The word “Pope” means “Father.” The word “Father” as a title was forbidden by Jesus Christ:
“And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and He is in heaven.” –Matthew 23:9

Therefore … the antichrist cannot be a single personality because the antichrist has been here almost 2000 years

The antichrist must be an office or a position of authority
The scriptures clearly state that Christians are temple of God (Corinthians 3:16-17; 1 Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 2:21). So
the antichrist will not occupy a temple in Jerusalem as some
bible scholars mistakenly believe, but he is already occupying a place amongst what might initially appear to be the body of Christ. The antichrist will sit as the head of this false church. 2 Thessalonians 2:4describes him well… “He (the antichrist) will exalt himself and defy everything that people
call god and every object of worship. He (antichrist) will even sit in the temple of God (the Christians), claiming himself to be God”. No wonder they system (the (Papacy), and their so called “fathers”, priests) claim to forgive sins which only God can (1 John 1:9; Psalms 32:5).
Roman Catholics see the pope as Christ’s vicar, which means, substitute. The pope’s Latin title is Vicarius Filii Dei, which means “Substitute for the Son of God.” In the Greek, “antichrist” simply means “in the place of Christ” Thus, by very definition, the pope IS the antichrist. Amazingly the title “Vicarius Filii Dei,”in Latin rules totals to 666.
Just as Jesus Christ is the only possible fulfillment of who was to be the Messiah, so too, the pope is the only possible fulfillment of who would be the antichrist. And still millions of people
are blind to both!
Question: “Is the pope the Vicar of Christ?”
Answer: The term “vicar” comes from the Latin word vicarius, which means “instead of.” In the Catholic Church, the vicar is the representative of a higher-ranking official, with all of the same authority and power that that official has. Calling the pope the “Vicar of Christ” implies that he has the same power and authority that Christ had over the church. The title is derived from Jesus’ words in John 21:16-17 to Peter, “Feed my lambs . . . Take care of my sheep.” This, according to Catholic reasoning, defines Peter as the Prince of the Apostles, the first pope, and fulfills the words of Jesus in Matthew 16:18-19 (calling Peter the rock upon which Jesus will build His church).
For a better understanding of whether or not it is biblical to consider that a mere man is the representative of Christ, we turn to the pages of Scripture to find out what it says about Jesus’ role in our lives, when He walked the earth and what He continues to do right now. The letter to the Hebrews draws the
comparison between Jesus and the high priest Melchizedek (Genesis chapter 14) and contrasts this with the old Levitical priesthood. The question posed is, if perfection could be obtained by following the law, why was another priest to
come (Hebrews 7:11)?
The writer says, “For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests. And what we have said is
even more clear if another priest like Melchizedek appears, one who has become a priest not on the basis of a regulation as to his ancestry but on the basis of power of an indestructible life. For it is declared ‘You are a high priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.’ The former regulation is set aside
because it was weak and useless (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better
hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God” (Hebrews
7:14-19).
This makes Jesus superior to the priests, and more importantly, the high priests. This is the key text: “Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented
them from continuing in office; but because Jesus lives forever, He has a permanent priesthood. Therefore, He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them” (Hebrews
7:23-25).
This means that Jesus
is our high priest forever. Since He is “holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, [and] exalted above the heavens” (Hebrews
7:26),
He is unlike other priests in that He “does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for His own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once and for all when He offered Himself” (Hebrews
7:27).
Men are appointed by the Law, and men are weak. But the Son was appointed by the New Covenant, and He has been made perfect forever (Hebrews
7:28).
The ministry of Jesus is superior to the old, and it is founded on better promises (Hebrews 8:6).
The Bible says of Jesus that there is no other name by which men can be saved (Acts 4:12).
There is only one mediator between God and men, and that is Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 2:5). We can now see that there is no
biblical foundation for claiming to be a representative of Christ on earth. No man could do what Christ has done, or what Christ is now doing on behalf of
humankind. But the title of vicar also carries with it another implication: the bearer has the same jurisdictional power of the official he represents. In Matthew 16:18, Jesus Christ is the one who says He will build His church; He never delegates this power. By claiming the title of Vicar of Christ, the reigning pope is, in fact, promising to do what Christ promised.
Jesus does indeed predict a “vicar” in the sense of a “replacement” for His physical presence here on earth. However, this “vicar of Christ” is not a priest, high priest, bishop, or pope. The only biblical “Vicar of Christ” is the Holy Spirit. John 14:26 declares, “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you
of everything I have said to you.” John 14:16-18 proclaims, “And I will ask the Father, and He will
give you another Counselor to be with you forever — the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you
know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” The Holy Spirit is Christ’s “replacement” on the earth. The Holy Spirit is our Counselor, Teacher (John 14:26), and guide into all truth (John
16:13).
In claiming that the pope is the “Vicar of Christ,” the Catholic Church rejects the sufficiency and supremacy of Christ’s priesthood, and grants to the pope roles that Christ
Himself declared would belong to the Holy Spirit. It is therefore blasphemy to ascribe to the pope the title of “Vicar of Christ.”

Which is why they should elect a young guy in his 60’s to give the world time. On the other hand, maybe the Catholic church will just revolt against any more Popes!!!!
Does anybody notice the frequency of these predictions coming up within more or less the same time frame, i.e. the Mayan predictions, American-Indian predictions of polar shifts, increasing natural calamities, Yellow Stone underground super volcano is coming into its once a millenia cycle of sun-blocking mega explosions, shifting tectonic plates, nut-head presidents testing and setting off nukes, now this?
