Army Set To Replace Tinye On Friday
The Uganda People’s Defense Forces’ council will meet on Friday in Bombo to replace renegade general David Sejusa, Ugandan government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo has revealed.
Opondo made the revelation on Tuesday afternoon on social media.
“UPDF army council meets Friday in Bombo to replace fugitive Gen. Sejusa as its MP” Ofwono tweeted.
Sejjusa, a former army MP who has been holed up in London touched off a storm last year when he alleged that government was clandestinely planning to bump off senior military and political figures opposed to the Muhoozi project.
The ‘Muhoozi Project’ is a loose translation of an alleged scheme by the president to have his son Brigadier Muhoozi Kainerugaba succeeds him as president.
The government denies the existence of such a move.
Last November, MPs adopted a parliament report recommending that General David Sejusa ceases to be an MP.
