National champions City Oilers point gaurd Komakech Ben was awarded the Most Outstanding Player at the Fiba Africa Zone V Basketball Club Championship qualifiers that closed on Sunday in Mombasa.
Despite being beaten in the semis by the eventual winners Urunani, Koma & the City Oilers yesterday defeated the other local representatives Tiger Head Power Basketball Club in the 3rd place playoff game.
KCCA Leopards the females on Uganda’s contingent also won the bronze in the women’s category.

Falcons (2000), Lady Bucks (2004) and Warriors (2009) remain the only three Ugandan sides to have featured in the Fiba Africa Zone V Basketball Club Championship.
