FDC’s four time Presidential Candidate Rtd Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye has been arrested shortly after Makindye court dismissed charges that were filed against him.
The case in which Besigye, Erias Lukwago & others are accused of ‘disobeying lawful and malicious damage’ has been dismissed by Makindye court this morning.
Makindye court Grade one Magistrate Fortunate Nyapiri dismissed ‘disobeying lawful & malicious damage’ case over lack of evidence.
The case was filed against him following his continued defiance campaign that is seen to be disrupting peace mostly in Kampala.
Besigye is currently detained at Jinja Road Police Station and the charges against him are not yet known.
FDC’s Chief Mobiliser Ingrid Turinawe says the officers at Jinja Road Police Station are yet to give an explanation for Besigye’s arrest
