Centenary Bank Hosts Archbishop of Mbarara for Special Mass

Centenary Bank was deeply honoured to host His Grace Lambert Bainomugisha, Archbishop of Mbarara Archdiocese, for a special Mass held at the Bank’s premises on Friday, 19 September, morning.

In his homily, the Archbishop expressed gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate Mass with the Centenary Bank family and appreciated the Bank’s generous contribution to the remodelling and expansion of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral, Nyamitanga. He emphasized the sacred nature of the Bank’s mission, acknowledging how its work continues to transform lives by empowering farmers, entrepreneurs, and communities — fostering economic growth and promoting social well-being across the country.

His Grace further commended Centenary Bank’s steadfast commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), particularly in education, healthcare, infrastructure development, and social support initiatives. He reminded staff that every action within the Bank should reflect Gospel values, urging them to view their work as a sacred trust rooted in respect for human dignity and service to others.

Speaking on behalf of the Bank, Mr. Joseph Balikuddembe, Executive Director, expressed profound gratitude for the Archbishop’s visit and spiritual guidance. He reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to community and faith, announcing a contribution of UGX 50 million towards the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral project.

“This contribution is a gesture of goodwill from our staff at all levels,” Mr. Balikuddembe said, “symbolising Centenary Bank’s core values of faith, unity, and service.”
