Club Music Video Awards Attracts Over 800 Entries
Kampala – The Club Musical Awards have attracted over 800 submissions in total for the 14 categories of the awards
Submissions started shortly after their announcement on May 17 and concluded on July 8.
“we are not surprised by the number of entries into the award although we expected like 300 entries. This not only shows that artists have already been making efforts to deliver on good videos, but believe their work is exceptional and deserving of recognition and this is exactly what club music awards are about,” said Club Brand Manager ,Samuel Hooper in a press conference at Kampala Serena Hotel
“The entries have been handed to the panel of judges who will review and score entries.
The highest scoring four entries in each category will automatically be the nominees,” added Hooper.
The judges jetted into the country on Tuesday July 16, and they have already started to review the videos.
The judges are; Leslie kasumba who is the manager Channel O Africa and she is a Ugandan born, Mathew Stonier from South Africa he is a film maker and a partner Mustard Post Production, Jasmine Dotiwala , she is a former senior producer at MTV, currently she is a columnist at Huffington Post, and the other judge is Phil Nwankwo who is a Talent and Music manager, Trace Anglo phone Africa.
People will start to vote after the nominees have been unveiled and they will not be allowed to vote in some of the categories.
The panel judges will choose the winner in these categories; Best Choreography, Best Cinematography , Best Special Effects, Best Use of Technology, Best set Design, Best Directing and Best Costume and Make Up.
People will be allowed to vote their favorite video in the following categories; Male Video of the Year, Female Video of the Year, New Comer of the Year, Collaboration of the Year, Best Duo or Group and Inspirational Message Video of the Year
An academy of reputable film makers will choose the one to win the Lifetime Achievement Award
