Gen.Muhoozi Welcomes Inspire Africa Coffee Park CEO Tugume To PLU

Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has welcomed Inspire Africa Coffee Park Chief Executive Officer Dr Nelson Tugume into the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), following Tugume’s endorsement of Kainerugaba’s political ambitions ahead of the 2031 presidential election.
Tugume visited the PLU Secretariat in Naguru on Monday, September 14, and signed the organisation’s endorsement book, publicly declaring his support for Kainerugaba’s proposed presidential bid.
Welcoming him to the movement, Gen. Kainerugaba said Tugume could be confident that PLU would protect him and his investments.
“I welcome Dr Nelson Tugume to the mighty PLU. He can feel confident that the people’s movement will protect him and his investments,” Kainerugaba said.

He added that PLU was open to people from different backgrounds and emphasised reconciliation, saying the movement did not hold grudges.
“We welcome all into our movement. We do not hold grudges. Our God, Jesus Christ, taught us to forgive. We believe in forgiveness,” he said.
Tugume, who heads Inspire Africa Coffee Park, said his decision to visit the PLU offices and endorse Kainerugaba was part of what he described as Uganda’s evolving political story.
“For me, this is bigger than politics. It is about the Uganda superstructure leadership that will change and transform the lives of our people,” Tugume said.

He linked his political position to the investment climate, arguing that investors require peace, stability, good governance and predictability to operate and grow their businesses.
“Investment follows confidence,” Tugume said, adding that Uganda had the potential to become a major investment destination because of its youthful population, strategic location, growing economy and opportunities across different sectors.
Tugume said he believed strengthening governance and creating an environment where businesses can grow would help create jobs and enable young Ugandans to turn ideas into enterprises.
He described Kainerugaba as the leader capable of providing what he considers the necessary leadership for that transformation.
Tugume further thanked Kainerugaba for what he described as his support for local investors and said he was honoured to join PLU.

He also praised Kainerugaba’s emphasis on patriotism, fighting corruption and supporting investors, saying these would help build confidence and accelerate economic development.
Tugume further thanked PLU Secretary General Hon Twalla Fadil for his role in building the organisation.
Twalla welcomed Tugume into PLU, describing him as a “brilliant man” and saying his investments and innovations could contribute to Uganda’s economy.
Twalla also said Tugume was ready to mobilise support across the country for Kainerugaba and participate in efforts to secure endorsements for the proposed 2031 presidential bid.
PLU officials subsequently described Tugume as a new member of the movement and welcomed his endorsement of Kainerugaba.

Tugume, meanwhile, invited Kainerugaba to visit the Inspire Africa Coffee Park in Rwashamaire, Ntungamo District, where he said the project would demonstrate the scale of work being undertaken by local investors.
The endorsement comes as Kainerugaba’s supporters continue organising around his political ambitions for 2031.
Tugume’s decision therefore places him among the latest business figures and other Ugandans publicly associating themselves with the PLU and Kainerugaba’s future political project.
