Get Off My Land!! M7 tells Nakaseke Pastoralists
By Serestino Tusingwire
President Yoweri Museveni has ordered pastoralists who have been occupying government land in Nakaseke district for decades to vacate it with immediate effect.
Museveni says he gave the land to the Chinese investor to start a large scale agricultural production, so these pastoralists should pave a way for the investor.
President Museveni said this while presiding over the pass out of 2,941 soldiers who completed basic military training at Kaweweta training School in Nakaseke district yesterday.
Nakaseke North MP, Syda Bbumba, however asked the president to move the relevant government institutions to ensure that the pastoralists, who have lived on the land for the last 30 years, get alternative land and move out without much disruption to their livelihood.
