Bukanga County MP Matovu Gregory from Isingiro district in western Uganda has passed on.
Gregory passed away on Monday morning at Nakasero Hospital in the capital Kampala.
Gregory Matovu who was 58 at the time of his death succumbed to throat cancer.
The National Resistance Movement (NRM) legislator was a member of the Committee on Information and Communication Technology
Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises.
Matovu becomes the sixth MP to die recently. The others who have passed away are: Michael Oromoit (21 July 2012), Cerinah Nebanda (14 December 2012), Eriya Kategaya (2 March 2013) Stephen Malinga ( 11 April 2013) and Joy Kariisa.
He held a Master of Arts Degree in Public Administration and Management from Makerere University which he obtained in 2006 and a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Political science and public administration) also from Makerere University.
The fallen lawmaker joined Parliament in 2011. He worked with the Ministry of Education, the presidential Commission for Teso and also as Senior Assistant Secretary Office of the President before becoming MP.
