Kamuli, Kween Vote Today
Tension and emotions are building up in Kamuli and Kween districts today after heavy deployment of Police in both districts as they vote in a new LC 5 Chairperson.
The mood and expectations are high in camps of the leading candidates especially Forum for democratic Change (FDC)’s Salaam Musumba and NRM’s Thomas Kategere who are the top two contenders in the Kamuli District by election.
The two have in the past week stepped up their campaign efforts to try woe voters in different sub counties before voting today.
According to the Electoral commission boss Dr. Engineer Badru Kigundu as EC they are set and confident the Kamuli and Kween district by elections will be free and fair and smooth.
A total of 170,851 voters will go to polls today in what is being described by political analysts as the most tricky by election while 37,452 will cast their votes in Kween district.
The candidates nominated for District Chaiperson , Kamuli district include Fred Bamutire,Dhizala Kaloli, Charles Isanga, Fred Kamaniro, Tom Kategere, Michael Kifubagabo, Ibrahim Mbadhi and Salaamu Musumba.
Nominated candidates for district Chairperson Kween District include, Paul Kapchemeiko, Alex Labu, Tom Chemusto, Nelson Chelimo and Jackson Mwanga.
The Kamuli LC5 seat fell vacant after court nullified Ahmed Kawuugu Kawoya Mugaino for inadequate academic qualification while Kween chairman was also thrown on academic grounds.

Current mismanagement of affairs in this country would not see another NRM seeing light in the politics of UG in both districts if i were to vote. Dear voters, vote wisely to stop ur district from being remote contralled by thieves. Every scandal involves “presure from above”. Look at current oil debate in parliament being messed up by the same. We need to reduce their numbers in key position
