Appearing on NBS TV on Friday, Kasirye Gwanga sounded optimistic when asked if the old cabinet ministers can deliver services. He defended old ministers saying that they can’t take bribes.

“Janet Museveni is a mother. I am going to give her a benefit of doubt, for six (6) months,” he said. “People like Kivejinja have seen it all. This country needs people like him… People like Ruhakana Rugunda, Kivejinja, Janet Museveni can’t take a bribe. They have seen it all.”

He also noted that Uganda Federal Alliance (UFA) president Betti Kamya, the new minister for Kampala will do a good job.

“I like Beti Kamya. I knew her father. She is pragmatic. Maybe we are going to have a change in Kampala,” he argued.

When asked to comment on Forum for Democratic Change (FDC)’s Kizza Besigye who on remand at Luzira and is battling treason charged, Kasirye Gwanga argued that Besigye is undisciplined.

“Besigye created the environment that is now dealing with him. I don’t sympathize with him,” he stated.
