KCC Win Super Cup

Fufa Super League winners Kampala City Capital Authority FC (KCC) scoped last year’s Uganda Cup champions SC Victoria University 4-3 in penalty shootouts to be crowned the new Uganda Super Cup champs at Nakivubo Stadium on Friday.
The Cup which opens the national soccer calendar is played by the national league winners and Uganda Cup champions ended 1-1 normal time infront of a reasonable crowd.
The 2012-2013 League top-scorer Herman Wasswa opened the score sheet in the 21st minute with an assist from new signing, former SC Villa skipper Stephen Bengo before Uganda Cranes defender Denis Guma replied with a header from the corner spot in the 65th minute to level.
SCVU paid dearly for being very wasteful in front of goal with Jackson Kibirige and Henry Lopodia missing their spot kicks while KCC’s Tony Odour also dramatically missed his.
SCVU defeated regional rivals Vipers to the 2013 Uganda Cup in Masindi, while KCC annexed their sixth league title in a close finish ahead of Uganda Revenue Authority FC.
The new FSL season is expected to kick off on August 20 with a star match between champions SC Villa and KCC in Nakivubo.
