Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni on Sunday evening arrived in the Russian Capital Moscow for a four day official working visit.

The president who is accompanied by the Hon. First Lady and Minister for Karamoja Hon, Janet Museveni is expected to give a public lecture at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations and later hold a discussion with the Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation.

The President who was welcomed by a Guard of Honour and spectacular match past mounted by the Ceremonial troops from the Kremlin was met by the Deputy Chief of State Protocol Andrey Yakovlev and Russia’s ambassador to Uganda Sergei Shishkin.

M7 was also met by other African ambassadors to Russia including that of Nigeria, Burundi, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Uganda was represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sam Kutesa, Minister of State for Defence Jeje Odongo and Members of Parliament Ssali Baker (Buikwe County West Constituency) and Nabirye Agnes (Woman MP Jinja Municipality), Uganda’s ambassador to Russia Moses Ebuk and the Deputy Head of Mission Nelson Ocheger.

The President and his delegation is expected to meet various investors and later lay a ceremonial wreath on a grave of an unknown soldier at the Kremlin wall next to the Red Square before concluding his visit with a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin later in the week.
