President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has once again made some changes in the Army that have seen Brig. Paul Lokech, the former commander of the Ugandan contingent in Mogadishu, being sent to Russia as a military adviser.

Col. Muhanga Kayanja who recently returned from Somalia is the new Commander of Military Police.

Col. Wilson Mbadi, President Museveni’s chief body for the last four years promoted to Brigadier and is now the fourth division commander.

Col. Peter Elwelu is now the Third Division Commander. He replaces Brig. Burundi Nyamunywanisa who has been sent to Washington as a military adviser.

Below is the full list of army transfers

a)      Brig Paul Lokech formerly Commander of Ugandan Contingent in Somalia is appointed Defence Attaché to Russia.

b)      Brigadier Burundi Nyamunwanyisa formerly 3rd Division Commander appointed Defence Attaché to USA.

c)      Col Peter Elwelu formerly 2nd Division Operations Officer promoted to Brigadier and appointed Commander 3rd Division.

d)     Col Wilson Mbadi formerly Aid de Camp (ADC) to HE the President promoted to Brigadier and appointed 4th Division Commander.

e)     Col Joram Kakaari formerly Inspector General of Military Equipment promoted to Brigadier and appointed Chief of Pensions.

f)       Col Simon Ocan formerly Chief of Staff of AMISOM, appointed Defence Attaché to DRC.

g)      Col Muhanga Kayanja formerly Deputy Commander of Ugandan Contingent in Mogadishu appointed Commandant – Military Police.

h)      Col Dominic Twesigoomwe from Course abroad appointed Defence Attaché to Somalia.

i)        Col Solomon Amanya formerly Director of Inspectorate appointed Inspector General of Military Equipment.
