A stamina-oozing President Yoweri Museveni was yesterday present at the finals of the East African Inter-parliamentary games at Mandela National Stadium Namboole.
The son of Kaguta was clad in his yellow sports attire marched in an athletic manner into the national stadium where Parliamentary teams from East African countries of Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda have been tussling it out in the games of netball for the ladies and football for the men.
Museveni on arrival at Mandela Stadium interacted with members of various teams with whom he exchanged pleasantries and thanked them for coming to attend the games that run from the 8th of December.
Before kick off between the Uganda Parliamentary team and the EALA team, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the late former President of the Republic of South Africa and a renowned freedom fighter Nelson Madiba Mandela.
President Museveni, thereafter, exhibited his foot ball skills by juggling the ball several times and kicking it high in the air amid ululation and cheering from members of Parliament from the East African countries.
Museveni was a footballer during his school days. He is known to wake early and walk long distances in the morning. His staff, many of who are much younger, are amazed by his level of fitness.
