Man Kills His Uncle Over Crude Waragi
Police in Serere district are hunting for a man in connection to the death of his paternal uncle.
Alfred Otede, a resident of Olupe-Moru village in Kyere Sub County Serere district allegedly assaulted his uncle Benjamin Olupot in the wee hours of Monday August 12 over crude waragi leading to his death.
Jimmy Anthony Oyuk, the Serere District Police Commander said that shortly after the incident a case of assault was reported at police and deceased was issued with a police form to go for a medical examination.
Gordon Omiat, a cousin to the deceased said that the duo fought at Igiran’s home, a local drinking joint.
He further said that during the clash Otede kicked his uncle in the abdomen, which is believed to have led to his death.
Omiat further narrated that Otede was taken to Serere Health Centre IV the next day, where he was pronounced dead at about 6:45pm on Monday evening.
On learning about the death of his uncle, Otede fled into hiding.
Jimmy Anthony Oyuk, the Serere District Police Commander says they are hunting for the suspect as investigations are ongoing.
