The Ntungamo District Woman Member of Parliament Josyline Bata Kamateneti has criticised the negligence by some leaders especially at the local level for being unbothered on some of the government projects in their areas.

Kamateneti urged the local leaders and the residents to understand that the Government starts with them. She appealed to them to be the key supervisors of Government projects.

MP Kamateneti made this call recently while she was attending a burial ceremony of the former Ntungamo District Inspector of Schools Isreal Bagarukayo in Kitondo, Kibatsi Sub-county, Kajara County Ntungamo District.

“Stop negligence on Government projects. This morning I visited Rwamabondo HCIII and there was a building that was constructed by Kibatsi Development Association, but the verandah has been destroyed yet there is leadership around and they are not bothered at all. People think that there is no government, please Government starts with you. Maintain every project that is brought to you by the Government.  Recently I was at Kitondo H/CII and I observed that the ceiling of that building around there was made of plywood which cannot even last for two years, this is normally done by the constructors due to connivance and lack of supervision by our leaders who are on ground. Stop misusing Government funds. I call upon every leader at whatever level to do your work and role so that we can leave a legacy for our people,” said MP Kamateneti.

She further cautioned some of the people to stop misleading the public by feeding false information about government facilities.

“Some people make phone calls on our local radio stations and start giving wrong information against government facilities. For example in health services, I have someone who recently called on one of the radios in our District and raised false information that in Rwamabondo HCIII there are no drugs, when I visited that facility the drugs were there. People stop misleading the world through wrong information, stop the mentality of half empty, let’s always appreciate and give credit to what government has done in our areas, let us stop demoralizing our technical staff who are trying to serve,” she added.
