MTN Uganda Strengthens Partnership with Busoga Kingdom Through Royal Wedding Support

MTN Uganda, a leading telecommunications company with a deep commitment to community development, is honored to announce its contribution towards the upcoming Busoga Royal Wedding, set to take place on November 18, 2023. The event, which is anticipated to draw dignitaries from various fields, will culminate in the official coronation of Jovia Mutesi as the queen of the Busoga Kingdom.

As part of its ongoing partnership with the Busoga Kingdom, MTN Uganda will present a contribution of 250 million Ugandan Shillings towards the Busoga Royal Wedding. This act of support underscores our dedication to fostering socio-cultural engagement initiatives, particularly in areas such as health, education, and sports, within the Busoga community.

In the spirit of encouraging widespread participation in this joyous occasion, MTN Uganda is pleased to offer a 10% top-up on all collections made through the MTN MoMo code 707070. We invite the subjects of the Busoga Kingdom and well-wishers to utilize this special code to make their contributions towards the Busoga Royal Wedding.

At MTN Uganda, we understand the importance of celebrating and preserving the rich culture of Busoga, and this event is a testament to our commitment to cultural activities that bring communities together. The Busoga Royal Wedding is not only a celebration of tradition but also an opportunity to showcase the region’s vibrant beauty and spirit.

In addition to our support for the Busoga Royal Wedding, MTN Uganda continues to invest in impactful projects across Busoga. Notable initiatives include sponsoring the 6th edition of the ongoing Busoga Cup Tournament, popularly known as the Masaza Cup, with the final match scheduled for later this month, the revitalization and equipping of the maternity ward at Mother Kevin Health Center III in Kamuli district, the enhancement of palliative care for cancer patients at Rays of Hope Hospice in Jinja, and the illumination of 30 schools in Kamuli district to improve learning outcomes for students.

Furthermore, we are excited to announce the “Busiki celebrations,” which will be hosted at different locations in the lead-up to the Busoga Royal Wedding. These celebrations, featuring bull roasting, discounted drinks via MoMo, and a variety of surprise entertainment acts, will take place on the following dates and locations:

  • November 10th – Budumbula
  • November 11th – Iganga
  • November 17th – MayugeGitta.
