MUHOOZI 2031 ENDORSEMENT! Ntungamo PLU Mobilisers Vow to Crush Factions Ahead of Mega Rally

Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) mobilisers in Ntungamo District have vowed to reject factions, internal conflicts and divisions as they prepare for a major event to endorse Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba for the 2031 presidential race.
The commitment was made on Monday, September 28, 2026, during a press conference at Ntungamo District Headquarters, where PLU officials, political leaders, religious leaders, businesspeople and other stakeholders launched the organisation’s Ntungamo mobilisation drive ahead of the planned endorsement event.
The mega function is scheduled for October 17, 2026, at Rubaare Playground in Rubaare Town, Rushenyi County, where organisers say they will endorse Gen. Kainerugaba for President in 2031.
The launch was officiated by PLU officials led by Jonan Muhumuza, PLU Coordinator for Ntungamo District, alongside Frank Mwesigye, the PLU Director of Communications, and other PLU officials from Mbarara and Isingiro.
‘NO FACTIONS’
PLU mobilisers urged members to remain united and resist individuals they said could seek to divert the organisation from its objectives.
Sam Mucunguzi, the Ntungamo District LC5 Chairman, claimed that some individuals had begun using different platforms to undermine PLU’s mobilisation activities.
Mucunguzi called for unity ahead of the October 17 event, saying political differences should not be allowed to derail the mobilisation.
“We are all Ugandans, let’s unite and we get out of political differences so that we can build our nation together,” Mucunguzi said.
He also said he supports Gen. Kainerugaba and called on PLU members to attend the October 17 function.
Muhumuza said the Ntungamo PLU mobilisation team was working together and would not tolerate factions or disagreements that could interfere with preparations for the endorsement.
“We have our committee purposely for the preparations of endorsing our generation leader Muhoozi Kainerugaba and we are working together smoothly,” Muhumuza said.
‘WE ARE ONE’
Another PLU mobiliser, Savimbi Denis Muhumuza, dismissed reports of divisions among the organisers, saying the team was focused on preparations for the October 17 event rather than internal positions.
“We are not into fights, we are into preparing one thing for 17th October. We invite everyone collectively and together to endorse our man MK,” Muhumuza said.
He said the organisers were working together despite claims of disagreements among some members.
FREE SERVICES AT RUBAARE
According to Jonan Muhumuza, the October 17 event will also feature a range of community services, including free medical services, legal services, entertainment, business registration and a section for handling corruption-related complaints.
Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba is expected to attend as the chief guest, accompanied by PLU Vice Chairman Michael Toyota Kaguta and other national PLU leaders.
Organisers said about 34 endorsement books had been distributed across sub-counties and town councils in Ntungamo District to collect endorsements for Gen. Kainerugaba.
The books are expected to be returned on October 17 during the PLU baraza at Rubaare.
The mobilisation comes as supporters of Gen. Kainerugaba continue organising activities around his proposed bid for the presidency in 2031.
