Museveni to partly pay Actress Tebandeke Kidney Transplant costs

Actress Esteri Tebandeke is going through hard times and quickly needs a kidney transplant. The good news is that President Yoweri Museveni has pledged to clear 50% of the costs for the process to take place.

Senior journalist with the BBC Allan Kasujja, using his tweeter account revealed the good news for Esteri.

His tweet reads “I shared this story (Esteri’s story) with President @kagutamuseveni just before our hour-long interview. Told him that Sam and Esteri (which is the President’s late mother’s name) had raised 50% of the money. The President said he’d pay the other 50% and directed @kennethOmona to follow it,” he tweeted.

Esteri is suffering from chronic kidney disease and needs about $30,000 for a transplant and medication.

Her husband, Samuel Tebandeke, is ready to offer one of his kidneys to save his ailing wife.
