A faction of dissatisfied Muslims whose actions led to the closure of Entebbe Masjid Taqwa are demanding for the resignation of Entebbe Resident District Commissioner Hakim Kirigwa accusing him of having conflict of interest on who should be the right leaders of Entebbe town mosque.
The angry Muslim faction led by Sadiq Mukasa, the new Vice chairperson of Entebbe Masjid Taqwa accuses Entebbe RDC Hakim Kirigwa of secretly meeting their Muslim rivals headed by Sheikh Umar Bashir Matovu, in addition to defending them during the district security committee meeting which he chairs himself.
Sadiq Mukasa
They claim that this week on Thursday they saw their Muslim rivals including Sheikh Umar Matovu, Hajj Twaha Sempebwa and Hajj Hadad Nsanje secretly meeting RDC Hakim Kirigwa whom they suspect to have endorsed them to continue holding prayers at Entebbe Muslim grounds as they await security to officially reopen the mosque depending on the outcome of the court ruling.
Early this month , Sheikh Umar Bashir Matovu and his agents filed a case in the High Court Land Division asking the court to declare Sadiq Mukasa’s led muslim faction as trespassers on Entebbe Masjid Taqwa.
The Sadiq Mukasa Muslim faction claims that the deal to continue holding prayers at Entebbe Muslim grounds was reached upon during a clandestine meeting between Sheikh Basir Matovu –led Muslim faction and RDC Hakim Kirigwa whom they say is one of the greatest beneficiaries of remittances collected from Entebbe Muslim property.
They also accuse RDC Kirigwa of rubbing shoulders with their Muslim rivals whom they say comply with the RDC’s office in financial related matters. They add that though RDC Kirigwa has failed to be neutral in handling Muslim issues, they won’t give up and they are ready to shed blood.
They revealed that they have informed all the imams to mobilize their followers in preparation to stage a spirited fight against the leadership of Sheikh Umar Bashir Matovu and RDC Hakim Kirigwa who seem to profit a lot in Muslim property.
The discontented Muslim faction led by Sadiq Mukasa claim that RDC Hakim Kirigwa has impacted nothing to the people of Entebbe apart from warming office furniture and waiting to crack juicy deals.
They have asked the Minister for presidency to sack RDC Kirigwa and replace him with a competent person. They strongly believe Mr. Kirigwa lacks competence to handle their matter saying such issues are beyond his understanding and intellectual ability.
