Muteesa University Beauty Pageant Called Off Over Amama Invite
Security authorities in Masaka have blocked a beauty pageant organized by Muteesa 1 Royal University, an institution affiliated to the kingdom of Buganda.
The contest to select this year’s miss University was to take place at Ambiance Discotheque where former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi was expected to grace the occasion as a chief guest.
However, Masaka district security committee deployed heavily at the Club located at Katwe along Masaka Hospital Drive and warned that the club risked closure if the event is held.
Security operatives led by Linos Ngompek, the Masaka Resident District Commissioner hinted that the choice for the chief guest was unthought-of.
Ngompek says Mbabazi has unresolved issues with security circles.
According to Ngompek, by inviting Mbabazi as guest of honor, the University Guild had turned the contest into a political event.
Henry Busulwa, the Manager of Ambiance Discotheque says they decided to cancel the contest for security reasons. He says their boss Joseph Kiyimba called them and asked them to bar the organizers of the contest from accessing the club.
Jesse Lumu, the Chairperson Organizing committee says the cancellation of the event has now ignited a riot by the frustrated students. A security team led by the Anti-riot police is patrolling the municipality to prevent a violent outcome.
Besides the cancellation also comes with financial implications for the guild and the participants who had invested heavily to ensure that the event is successful, he adds. They had bought a motor cycle for the winner at a cost of Ugx 3million. They had also paid service providers and the judges in advance.
Noah Sserunjogi, the Greater Masaka Police Spokesperson says police is alert should there be any outbreak of violence.
Mbabazi kokarabe-your support of POMA is coming back to haunt you bwana. You though you were only denying besigye and us freedom but you have now realised you to denied yourself the freedom.
This is ridiculous and sub-normality, but everything has its beginning and ending. this kind of mistreatment will come to past.
Brainless fellows are it again. Ngompek says “Mbabazi has unresolved issues with security circles”. Why not arrest him if he has a case? Ngompek, it is just a matter of time. I hope you will find another country to run to when things cease to work your way. You and your masters are holding Ugandans Hostage.

NONSENSE! Have you seen the road that took Blaise Campoare? Watch this space..
Mbabazi was happy to pass the controversial “PUBLIC ORDER MANAGEMENT BILL”! Its now operating on him too, Hahahahaha.
Guess he is soon getting impatient too.
you guys are the ones who vote. think of this you peasants
Ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!! That is good. Let Police continue to harass Mbabazi. In fact I am waiting for the day they will begin to throw him on police pick ups like they did to Besigye. Mbabazi who until recently was an NRM guru is one of the people who initiated that manner of dealing with opposition politicians. Let him taste what other Ugandans have been tasting for years.
Thank you police. Don’t wait for functions, when you see his car on the road, just block him, order him to get out and take him to Police for no offense committed. If he refuses, just tower his car to the nearest police post and keep him running between police and courts on bogus cases. Before he knows it, it will be 2016 and he wont have time for anything. Then our visionary will have a free ride – that is the Uganda you have built Hon. Mbabazi – just get the real feel of how things happen when you are not the Prime minister or NRM SG.
